Body description: Grym, as he is called by most people, stands at 6'1 and seemingly made of pure muscle under beneath golden tanned skin. He has long dark-blonde curly hair and a beard, as well as the most dreamy blue-green eyes. While he's a beautiful man to look at, none would miss the warrior within as Grym exudes confidence and strength.
Personality: Grym is the kind of man who seems to silently demand respect as he walks by but he so greatly values his citizens and soldiers in Mont Daegal that their respect is often one of grateful reverence in all that he has done to improve life since even before he became Marshal. He is devoted and focused in his work and an intimidating opponent. It is well known that he is quite a bit more along in his grimoire than most and that kind of power had been a great asset to him as well. He is harsh in his punishments, leaving little room for mistakes under his watch.
However, for those who are close to him, Grym does warm up. A bit. He laughs loudly, loves to drink and get rowdy, and will get down in the mud with the rest of them to move a fallen tree from the road or fix a broken cart wheel. It is this kind of comradery that has won him loyal friends time and time again. A tough exterior but much more to him than that.
Perhaps one day he will find someone who will break into the deeper level of his heart like no one has done before...

Combat experience: Bastian comes from a long line of Grym soldiers, many with distinguished histories. As a young child he was trained by his father, uncles, and older cousins all before entering more formal training. He has always done well and loves to get up close and personal with a war hammer while also using his grimoire magic to his combative advantage as often as possible.

History:
Rywell Grym was a firm believer in strength, power, and the need for procreation in order to further not only survival of Rodale but further it's power and influence. Bastian was the first born and took upon him all of his father's goals for life as his own. His father began to train him and his siblings in combat when they were young and had little patience for games and play. His father was a devoted Knight who fought for his Marshal with immense loyalty. With a Grimoire in his possession he began to teach Bastian as much as he could about it's contents, knowing he wouldn't have use of it until later in life but wanting to give Bastian as best of a head start as he could. His father had always hoped to die in battle but it would end up being illness that took his life in the end. It was his greatest disappointment, but he passed down his Grimoire to his eldest after his death when Bastian was only 14.
Those around Bastian after his father's name began to start calling him by his surname 'Grym' due to his dark demeanor and even after his depression subsided, the name would stick and Bastian started to prefer it most of the time. He studied the grimoire from his father as much as he could. Spending nearly all of his teenage years in combat training, becoming a squire as soon as he was able, his education, and studying the grimoire in whatever time was left to him, even if it meant staying up until nearly all hours of the night. He rose in strength, influence, and rank as he grew into adulthood as a knight. As he grew he attracted a group of people around him who both admired and feared him. They saw him for the might that he had but also for what he might one day become.
When he was 22 he married a pretty young woman, Kate, with the sole purpose of them being a good fit for the genes they would pass on to their children. They would go to have 5 children together before she died shortly after giving birth to their final children, a set of twin boys. The delivery had just been too much on the mother. It is rumored that Marshal Bastian Grym just might be looking for a new wife these days.
When he was 28 and he challenged the ailing Marshal of Mont Daegal. The man might have been getting old but that didn't mean he wasn't still skilled. It was a vicious battle but in the end Grym came out on top to the cheers of those who were already friends and those who now wished to join that coveted title of 'friend'. In his time as Marshal Grym has continued to earn and keep the loyalty of those in Mont Daegal by protecting their people from inter Rodale conflict, intensifying and improving combat training regimens, improving education in Mont Daegal, and in leading with an iron fist that has little room for excessive mercy for wrong doers.
